Landlord's Description
"Hello- I am offering a restored c1890 Victorian home for rent in Carriage Town. The home was owned by automobile pioneer Charles W Nash and is a 5 minute walk to the edge of the UM-Flint campus. The house can come furnished. Central heat and central air conditioning. Off-street driveway parking behind a period style fence/gate. Tenants pay gas, electric. $600/mo is based on two tenants. An additional roommate would raise the rent to $900/mo. There is one bathroom and the laundry is on the first floor. Charming location and so close to the UM-Flint campus. Across the street from the restored, National Register listed Durant-Dort Office Building, the birthplace of GM. Contact Rich at CharlesWNashHouse@yahoo.com. Thanks! "

This is the beautifully restored c. 1890 Victorian single family HOME once owned and lived in by automobile pioneer Charles W Nash (this home is listed on the State of Michigan Historical Register). This home was the first to be restored in Flint's historic Carriage Town District. I lived here for a year while studying theater at UM-Flint. It's a charming old house and is about a 5 minute walk to the UM-Flint campus. Although there are three bedrooms, the house is best suited for 2 roommates. Utilities were about $200/mo on average ($100/mo per person) depending on how warm we kept it in the winter and how much central a/c we used in the summer. The landlord pays the water and maintains the yard in the summer. The landlord is very approachable . The beauty, history and charm of this one-of-a-kind home would make any college experience even better. Oh yeah, there's also an antique mall opening up just a couple of blocks away along with a new condo development in the old Berridge Hotel. I miss this house.
